Vice Chancellor's Welcome
We provide a quality tertiary education that is Biblically-based and Christ-centred, where our students can develop both spiritually and academically. It is our desire that the program we provide will lead our students to mature in loving God with all their heart, mind and soul (Matthew 22:37); grow in wisdom and stature in His sight (Luke 2:52); and go out into the world as salt and light (Matthew 5:13-14).
We are well into the 2018 academic year, and over the course of a decade and some years, we have awarded hundreds of initial qualifications to successful learners. To our delight, their first degrees have become a stepping stone to further studies and a higher degree in law, business, medicine, education, computer science and the likes.
We are grateful for monumental landmarks that we have surpassed, which are guiding us to excellence. After a decade of operating under Lavengamalie Christian College, we took on a colossal challenge in 2014, to become known as Christ’s University in Pacific.
At the same time, we started our post-graduate studies in Business, Education, Forensic IT and Theology. We awarded our first Masters degrees in 2015 and the next year, our first Ph.D. degrees. In 2016, the King of Tonga Tupou VI accepted the invitation from the Board of Governors to become the first Chancellor of CUP. In 2017, CUP was granted Provisional Registration by the Tonga National Qualification and Accreditation Board (TNQAB), and we also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kwangwoon University of South Korea. Kwangwoon University now offers 3 programmes at C.U.P which includes Holography, Media Arts, and Mathematical Sciences.
We continue to seek affiliation opportunities and support in the fields of Business, Education, Theology and Apologetics. And our search is expansive, looking to the best universities and organizations to assist us in our growth and expansion of available curricula.
We do thank the LORD that despite our humble beginning, the progress is steady and very promising. We affirm the sovereignty of God in all things and the Gospel of Jesus Christ as God’s saving Word. We are striving to provide the best tertiary education we can, so that God would be honoured and glorified in whatever we do.
